Why are the Moon and the Sun Split?

This has long affected me as I took comfort in the story of the Midrash about the shrinking of the moon and sun to understand my own violence and story I found in my parents divorce. Following the cataclysmic split of the heavens and of the earth... of the upper and the lower water. the creation of earth meaning darkness and evil.. Following my parents' divorce and feeling fractured . I felt I too was split not only as body and soul, but as three parts of my self..

I took a backpack , Ieft home , who knew I would ever come back? I didn't return the same .
My father watches the garden, this is the garden of what his world could be. He looks longingly at his own home, but it was not his home
